ABOUT MHHC

Welcome to Muskegon Heights Housing Commission and Muskegon Heights Affordable Housing, Inc. We take pride in our partnership with Muskegon County and the City of Muskegon Heights to create safe and affordable housing options for individuals and families. In the Muskegon Heights neighborhood, we supervise 340 living units in 3 developments over 29 acres.  The Housing Authority also manages 52 Housing Choice Vouchers and 71 Project Based Vouchers.

The Allen Street Crossing development is a partnership with Spire Development Inc., and Little River Housing Developers to build and open 50 units of affordable housing in downtown Muskegon Michigan. We support and encourage a healthy, safe and vibrant mixed income housing community that is sustainable. Our commitment is to house the residents of Muskegon County and Muskegon Heights with high quality affordable housing.

OUR HISTORY

The Muskegon Heights Housing Commission development was chartered by the City of Muskegon Heights Housing Commission and the State of Michigan as a HUD funded public non-profit Housing Authority. The primary mission of the MHHC is to provide public housing opportunities to low- and moderate-income individuals and families, including elderly, disabled and veterans requiring public housing to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

The mission of Muskegon Heights Housing Commission is to provide safe and affordable housing for low-income individuals and families residing in Muskegon County and the City of Muskegon Heights MI, with a firm commitment to the principles of financial, physical, environmental, and social sustainability.

The vision of Muskegon Heights Housing Commission is to be a high functioning Public Housing Authority with a high-performance history with HUD and the State of Michigan as a preferred provider of housing options for low-income residents in Muskegon County and Muskegon Heights, MI.
